Introduction
Moduloc Control
Systems offers a variety of laser measuring solutions for your measuring
requirements. We have available the ELDP & MDHD Laser Distance
Measurement Meter, the LT2000 Laser Distance
Measurement Meter and the ML Laser Triangulation Meter. Let our
measurement experts help you solve your measurement requirements.
The ELDP & MDHD Laser Distance
Measurement Meters are a Class I
invisible laser and utilizes 'Time of Flight' distance measuring
techniques. The ELDP & MDHD Laser Distance
Measurement Meter is ideal for laser measuring off of
prisms, reflectors or laser measuring directly
off any surface up to 1400°C.
The ELDP &
MDHD
Laser Distance Measurement Meter is available in four models with
working ranges up to 1200 meters off a prism reflector, up to 155 meters
off of natural surfaces and up to 20 meters off of hot natural surfaces
up to 1400°C (2552°F) including
red hot steel.
The ELDP & MDHD Laser
Distance Measurement Meter are an ideal measuring laser for positioning
of bridge cranes, transfer cars, mobile equipment and material handling
systems in automated warehouses. The ELDP & MDHD Laser Distance Measurement
Meter can also be used for tracking of hot metal inside of furnaces,
caster cut-to-length and positioning of hot/cold product.

Information on ELDP & MDHD Laser Distance Meters
The LT2000 Laser Distance
Measurement Meter is a Class II
Visible Red Laser and utilizes
comparative phase shift
measuring techniques. The LT2000 Laser Distance Measurement Meter
is ideal for laser measuring off of white reflectors or laser measuring
directly off any surface up to 1250°C
(2300°F)
.
The LT2000
Laser Distance Measurement Meter is available in two models with working
ranges up to 100 meters off a white reflector, up to 150 meters using a
special reflector, up to 50 meters off of
natural surfaces and up to 25 meters off of hot natural surfaces up to
1250°C (2300°F) including
red hot steel.
The LT2000 Laser
Distance Measurement Meter is an ideal measuring laser for positioning
of bridge cranes, transfer cars and mobile equipment. The LT2000
Laser Distance Measurement Meter can also be used for tracking of hot
metal inside of furnaces, caster cut-to-length and positioning of
hot/cold product.
The ML Laser
Triangulation
Measurement Meters is a Class II
Visible Red Laser and utilizes
Laser
Triangulation & CCD array with digital signal processing
measuring
techniques. The ODS Laser Triangulation Measurement Meters
have a broad range of usage and are well suited for
laser measuring off surfaces where
other devices fail.
The ML
Laser Triangulation Measurement Meter is available in seventeen
models with working ranges from 16mm up to 4 meters and with
reproducibility from
±0.0008 mm up to
±0.5mm off
natural surfaces and hot natural surfaces up to 1200°C
(2192°F)
including red hot steel. A special model is available to measure off of
molten steel up to 1500°C (2732°F).
The ML Laser
Triangulation Measurement Meter is
ideal for measuring off wood, plastic, rubber, paper, foam, textiles,
food product, cold, hot or molten metals as well as various liquids.
The LD-6001 Laser Slab Length
Measurement System - Laser Slab Width Measurement System
utilizes advanced technology
ELDP,
MDHD or the LT2000 Laser Distance
Meters
in conjunction with a powerful
LD-6001 CPU engineered to provide convenient operation & communication
between the lasers and the mill computer. The System
can operate off both cold or hot product. This Gauge is well suited for determining the size and position of steel product such as slabs, blooms or billet in the furnace area & other difficult areas in the Rolling Mill.
The
LD-6001 CPU displays the individual measured distances from each Laser
Distance Meter and calculates the widths, lengths or centerline deviations. These values are then combined into a single data string for direct connection to a Mill PC.
Communication & adjustment of the Laser Distance Meter functions is via
straightforward ASCII commands.
Calibration is achieved by positioning and configuring the system via
the Mill PC or Modem.
The MDCV83200 Laser Thickness Gauge
utilizes Class II
Laser Triangulation Meters (LTMs) across the C-Frame to determine the
thickness of the plate. Exceptional high accuracy of thickness
measurement is provided as the Gauge is automatically calibrated off a
Certified Master plate sample that identifies the distortions in the
gauge frame due to ambient changes and radiant heat that is then
compensated for in the thickness output.
In addition, the frame
temperature is monitored by implanted thermocouples with the outputs
inputted into the Gauge Controller algorithms. Using this technique,
this Gauge automatically compensates for any distortions and provides
high-resolution thickness measurement, regardless of the effect of such
temperature changes.
The MDCV83200 laser
Thickness Gauge operates via a Pentium 3VX Windows PC Controller mounted
in a floor standing cabinet with flat resistive touch screen and user
friendly graphic display. The Converteam HCPI software also addresses the
expansion algorithms for 10 alloys to provide hot/cold conversion of plate
thickness.
The C-Frame is
purposely build from heavy steel plate and I-Beam support to maintain
dimensions stability with changing ambient and high radiant heat emitting
from the hot plate as it passes through the Gauge.
The MDCLS Series - Digital Camera
Level Sensors
are compact units with integrated optics and
signal processor for precise measurement of the molten liquid level in
Launders, Head Boxes, and Casters in the Aluminum and Non-Ferrous
industry.
A focused Class II red laser sport is illuminated on the liquid surface
and the image distance is determined by the internal CCD camera. LEDs
clearly indicate when the object is at centre of measuring range or at
limit of measuring.
The MDCLS Digital Camera Level Sensor Unit is housed for protection in a
secondary robust stainless enclosure to give total protection as well as
being provided with an Air Inlet venting as Air Purge out of a
protective nozzle. This also enables replacement of the camera without
disturbing the mounting configuration. The connection cable is also
encased in a stainless flexible conduit to protect it from hot metal
splash. A robust plug is provided with a mating socket for the laser to
be implemented on-site.
MDCLS Digital Camera Level Sensors are established to be the ideal
replacement for ultrasonic, radar or mechanical float level control as
non-contact sensors that need little maintenance and maintain constant
accuracy.
